On October 2nd 2017 David Stump, a husband, father, brother, friend and Engineer of IFD Engine 4 (C Shift) suffered a severe stroke.
He was working his side job, building a deck, when symptoms appeared and he was taken by ambulance to Morgan County IU. As his condition deteriorated he was lifelined to IU Methodist. There, he was intubated and underwent surgery to remove a clot that had completely blocked an artery in his brain. After his surgery he was moved up to ICU, where he is currently.
David will be off work for a lengthy amount of time from the firehouse and will be unable to work his side job, which provides a supplemental income that his family needs. He will be needing to spend some time in a rehab hospital when he is released from Methodist as well. His wife, Julia, has taken time off of work and away from nursing school to be with him at the hospital (she is a true rock star & an incredible woman, fyi)! It is unknown what the medical bills will look like as it is still early on in his recovery.
As you can imagine, there are many unknowns and uncertainties right now for David, Julia and the family. We would love to lessen the stress and worries of some of the financial burdens they will be faced with. I know we can rally together and pull through for the Stumps, just like they would do for any one of us! As much as a financial donation is greatly appreciated, your prayers are also welcomed.
